The Watershed Institute is now accepting session proposals for the 8th Annual New Jersey Watershed Conference. The conference will be on February 21, 2025. Sessions that relate to the overall conference theme of "Resiliency through Restoration" will be given preference.
To protect people, property, livelihoods, and the environment from the effects of climate change, we need to undo the conditions and systems that have brought us here. We need to undo the mistakes of the past as we prevent further harm.
"Resiliency through Restoration" reflects the importance of responding to climate change-related issues with restoration, which can address impacts that exist today as well as the predicted and unpredictable impacts of the future. For this reason, the New Jersey Watershed Conference team is calling for sessions that center discussions and collaboration around this theme.
Suggested session topics include methods and policies to restore impaired waters, funding opportunities for resiliency and restoration work, regional planning approaches for large-scale projects, maintenance of projects to ensure long-term viability, and more.
