Join us at Giving Pond Recreation Area as we continue to tackle some of the most invasive plants at this location: vines! We will be working to cut back Oriental Bittersweet, Japanese Honeysuckle, Mile-a-minute, and Porcelain Berry. The knowledgable Penn State Master Watershed Stewards will be assisting with this volunteer day, so it is a great opportunity to ask them about the MWS program, if you are interested!
Gloves and hand tools will be provided. However, if you have hand tools such as loppers, pruners, and pruning saws feel free to bring them along (please no chainsaws or other powered tools).
Remember to dress warmly in non-cotton layers. Boots are suggested due to possible muddy conditions.
