Protect the View visually showcases some of the region’s most remarkable scenic trail views that may be threatened by development. The campaign builds awareness of these trail experiences and the importance of open space funding to preserve the scenic value of these places.

Protect the View is a science-based campaign and call to action resulting from rigorous conservation and development analyses of unprotected land- within trail viewshed areas in the Philadelphia area and builds on AMC’s Circuit Trails Visual Assessment Project. This research focuses on 10 views from 6 Circuit Trails that are vulnerable to development. Protect the View provides a webpage for each trail focus area with an interactive map, photos, and videos. Also highlighted is planning and population data that provides quick facts about each focus area, and links to the research the Protect the View campaign is based on.
