Please join Friends of the Wissahickon as they remove invasive plants from around their trails!

The Wissahickon is filled with a variety of beautiful plants. Many of them, unfortunately, are not native to this area and can cause a lot of harm. When an exotic species takes up shop in the park, they tend to grow & spread quickly, shading the ground so that nothing else will grow. They’ll be removing some of these invasive plants and preparing the area of a planting this fall.

Workdays will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or snow, thunder and lightning, high winds, etc. Visit FOW’s Facebook page or the Upcoming Work Days page for updates. If the workday is cancelled it will be posted by 8 am.
