Streambank Restoration at Camel's Hump Farm, Bethlehem, PA

rtaImage.jpg

Looking for an opportunity to be outside, volunteer, and get your hands dirty -- all while improving the health of the Monocacy Creek, a high-quality, cold water tributary of the Lehigh River?

Join Sierra Club PA's Water Defenders at Camel's Hump Farm on the Johnston Estate for a Stewardship Sunday to assist the Friends of Johnston, a volunteer-based nonprofit, with an important restoration project. We'll learn all about streambank restoration techniques and help them install bank stabilization, live stakes, and plant native trees and shrubs in order to protect and restore natural stream banks.

No experience necessary. Dress appropriately, and bring gloves and waterproof boots. Refreshments will be provided.
