The Wissahickon Creek is a treasure to many Philadelphians and visitors to the area, who are searching for an escape to nature, providing a stunning green space for hiking, biking, and fishing. Devil’s Pool, in particular, is one of the most beautiful places in the park – an iconic spot along the Cresheim Creek, just before it flows into the Wissahickon.
Due to the popularity of this location, an excess of trash is sadly left behind by many of its visitors. This not only looks terrible but is dangerous to the fish and other wildlife that live in our watershed. Please come out to help us to clean up this area, and to preserve the natural beauty of the Wissahickon Valley.
Snacks will be provided by honeygrow! Join us for cleanup games, prize giveaways, and a day of enjoying and caring for Wissahickon Creek!
Workdays will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or snow, thunder and lightning, high winds, etc. Visit Friends of the Wissahickon’s Facebook page or the Upcoming Work Days page for updates. If the workday is cancelled it will be posted by 8 am.
This is event is sponsored by Friends of the Wissahickon and United by Blue. Find out more and register here for the clean-up.
