Delaware River Steamboat Floating Classroom, Inc. SPLASH presents Shad Cruise: Amazing Migratory Fish of the Delaware River.

On this trip, timed to be part of World Fish Migration Day, your hosts will share the ecological importance of the American Shad and other migratory fish, the history of the Lewis Family Shad Fishery, and efforts to restore the population of American shad in the Delaware.

The event will be lead by Steve Meserve, 4th generation shad fisherman, whose family has operated the Lewis Island Shad Fishery since 1888; and Charles Hardy III, Professor of History at West Chester University, and author of “Fish or Foul: A History of the Delaware River Basin Through the Perspective of the American Shad, 1682 to the Present.”
