Wilmington's Drinking Water, What's Up?, Wilmington, DE

Brandywine-River.jpg

Join the Delaware Nature Society on a journey to see how clean water gets to Northern Delaware residents every day! A large percentage of Northern Delaware's drinking water comes from the Brandywine River. Follow the water as it travels the newly restored mill race, is cleaned at the Porter Filtration Plant, and gets distributed throughout Wilmington and Brandywine Hundred. Enjoy a water tasting overlooking the Cool Spring Reservoir Plaza, and end with a hike to the top of Hoopes Dam. Bring a bag lunch and wear good walking shoes. Dress for the weather. The tour is led by Sally O'Byrne.
