Come lend a hand and "shell-a-brate" at the upcoming reef build for the Delaware Bay on Saturday, April 8!

Last year, more than one hundred volunteers came out to help build a near-shore whelk shell bar at Moores Beach to help prevent sand loss from wind-driven waves. This year the build will take place at Thompsons Beach in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County.

Volunteers will carry bags of shells to a site just off the beach. Dress to get wet and dirty. Layers are recommended as it may be chillier on the bay. And you may want to bring a change of clothes for after the work is completed.

Gloves will be provided for volunteers. Food and beverages will be on tap from Spanky's BBQ.
