Save the Date:
Ever wonder how a strip mall was built in a formerly forested lot? Or how a fast-food shop emerged in a residential neighborhood? Join the Watershed Institute for their online workshop, where you’ll learn how developers go through the steps they need to win approval from local planning or/and zoning boards. This virtual workshop will share tools and tips on how to effectively combat these projects.
Their panel of experts will break down sample applications that would be submitted to planning and zoning boards. You will learn how your community’s land use plans and zoning are formulated, how zoning variances are allowed (and how to fight such proposals), and other topics. The panel will explore the public’s rights throughout the process, and how to learn about projects before it's too late to block or alter them.
