Please join Friends of the Upper Delaware, Upper Delaware Council, and CDRW at a stakeholder meeting to discuss proposed locations, design, timeline, and hear your feedback and guidance.
Friends of the Upper Delaware River (FUDR) have prioritized installing watershed-wide signage on roadways along Delaware River watershed boundaries. The goals of such an undertaking are to increase public awareness, sense of place, and encourage stewardship. Roadside signage has existed for years in some of America’s most iconic watersheds including the Chesapeake Bay and the Great Lakes. Yet there is not a single sign in New York State’s portion of the Delaware River alerting travelers they have entered the watershed.
The groups want New Yorkers and those who travel through the great state to know when they have entered the Delaware River watershed. This simple approach to watershed education will help them and their partners achieve their ambitious resource protection objectives for this great river.
